If you are thinking of installing a charging point you are no doubt already convinced of the huge number of benefits electric cars offer.

Not only are they better for the environment, they also need less maintenance, keep their retail value and cost less to run.

Typically, it costs under a tenner to fully charge an electric car - significantly less than you would spend to fill your tank at the pump.

But if you are going to take the plunge and go electric you do need to think through the logistics of charging your car.

Although some businesses and retail parks offer free charging facilities, for most people a home charging point is essential.
This doesn’t need to be a daunting requirement though. At PSC Electrical Contractors we are experienced in installing electric car charging points and we will make sure the task is carried out quickly and professionally.

How much will it cost?

The cost of installation starts from £699+VAT. We will come and carry out a survey of the site and provide you with a full quote so you are clear on the cost before work begins. At this point we would also need to get some information from you so we can register your charging point with your Distribution Network Operator (DNO), the company responsible for bringing electricity to your property.

What sort of space will I need for a charging point?

Your property needs to have off street parking which you can access without having to cross other properties.

How long does it take?

It will take roughly one day to install your charging point. It’s really important you are home for the commissioning of the unit so you can make sure you can link up to any smart system or apps you plan to use with your charge point.
